MIDI sound font?
How do you create a MIDI sound font? I want to record my organ's notes and place them in a MIDI player. My goal is to write a MIDI song with a MIDI composer and play it back with the sound of my Organ. Is this possible?

Re: MIDI sound font?
MIDI is just instructions for playing a musical instrument. MIDI does not include the actual sound of the instrument.
A sound font is a collection of sound samples used by a synthesizer which is usually controlled by MIDI. The relationship between MIDI and sound fonts is just incidental.
If your organ has a MIDI In connection, then the easiest way to hear the sound of your organ would be to send the MIDI to your organ to be played.
You could create a sound font that would sound a lot like your organ but that is an ambitious task.
I would suggest you get more familiar with creating MIDI songs by writing them and playing them back with the Miditzer. Writing songs in MIDI takes some practice and writing for an organ presents some special challenges with regard to the registration of the organ.
Hope this helps.
