Setting screen resolution

I got the same screen as Per got when I first ran the program, but read somewhere on the forum that a higher resolution was needed to run, so after raising the resolution to 1280x1024 it ran OK, and then it still opened fine after I reduced the resolution back to where it was before.  I have an e-machines P4 2.8gig machine. I'm an 'Old codger' and like the lower resolution.Regards.   Tony.

This is bit off topic but I think it is worth discussing some tips for getting the most out of your display as it will be more important to get every last bit of what your display is capable of for the next version of the Miditzer.All of the settings discussed here are found in the Display Properties. You can get to them by right clicking on the screen without any windows in the way or by going to the Control Panel, Appearance and Themes, Display.For those with LCD (flat panel) displays, LCD displays need to be configured a little bit differently than CRT displays. LCD displays have a native resolution. You will vastly degrade the displayed image if you do not set Windows to use the native resolution as the display resolution. If you have an LCD, find out what its native resolution is, and set the Windows display properties to match. I think the maximum resolution offered by Windows is always the native resolution of an LCD. Never ever run an LCD at anything other than its native resolution because it will look very bad.If you have a CRT display, you can run a variety of resolutions. Higher is better, up to a point. If you want a quick answer, run your CRT at 1280 x 1024 if possible. (Also set your screen refresh rate to 70Hz or higher to avoid screen flicker.) If your hardware won't support 1280 x 1024 resolution, then use the maximum it will support at a refresh rate that doesn't appear to flicker. Resolutions above 1280 x 1024 get into diminishing returns; I would suggest going as high as you can while keeping at least a 70Hz refresh rate.People run at lower resolutions than the above suggestions because text gets smaller as the resolution increases. Windows provides two settings to correct this. Both are found in the Display settings where the resolution and refresh rate are found as well.Go to the Settings tab and click on the Advanced button. Increase the DPI value to make things larger on your screen.You can also go to the Appearance tab and select the Large or Extra Large Font Size. I believe this only affects the Windows fonts. I think the DPI setting above will be a better choice for most people.The reason you want to run the maximum resolution and then increase the DPI setting to make things larger is that this will make curved and angled edges smoother. You can read things on a computer screen more easily if the edges are smoother.If you have an LCD, you might want to give Microsoft's ClearType a try. I have 3 LCD monitors and they all work perfectly with the windows display properties.

re-installed 216 on new pc...too big for window...cut off half way through pedal board...completely untechnical....win7..flatscreen...1680 x 1050 recommended....anyone help ? Thanks mardy.
