I'm travelling for a few days, I'll pick up the discussion when I return home.

reading the forum
One of the most important resources for learning about the organ is right here at the forum.
As I evaluate whether or not I have the time and $ to resume my support for the King of Instruments I have found many answers on this list incredibly valuable.
Without wasting excessive bandwidth (do I DO THAT???) examples include Jim mention that clicking on the screen LABEL of the SOLO, GREAT or ACCOMPANIMENT will effect a divisional CANCEL. I am sure I had read that somewhere years ago, but reviewing the posts brought it to my attention again, and what a valuable timesaver that is when changing registrations.

Cruising the forum to learn
Another important tip I gleaned from reading Jim's earlier postings on the forum:
Regarding recorded MID files:
Recording does not save piston selections, but rather the actual stops.
This brought joy, since it does not force me to configure my own pistons to match whichever settings may have been chosen by the original artist. It will play the proper stoptab selections.

Re: Experimental Forum changes
Hi Jim,
I took a quick look at the 'cookie' issue and I'm seeing phpBB trying to set cookies with the domain: forum.miditzer.org but that is no longer correct as the forum is now at miditzer.org/forum. My browser doesn't accept third-party cookies (ie, cookies from another domain than is being accessed). This may be the source of the issues I'm seeing with the 'remember me' option on the login screen no longer working. In fact I get logged out after just a couple of hours.

Hi John,
I changed the cookie setting. Let me know whether or not that helps.

Thanks. I'll check again but as before am heading out of town for a couple of days. I don't see any cookies so far. But let me do some more testing...

Re: Experimental Forum changes
As an often reader of the postings I love what you are doing to improve the list.
Although sometimes I get involved in an article to realize it was posted a decade ago, it is good to view the most recent postings when I log on without clutter.
You deserve praise for your efforts! Since I create and maintain several websites and chatlists myself and teach website creation in workshop seminars, I realize the incredible effort you put into maintaining the MidiTzer list so well - you go far beyond the normal expectations - kudos!
Although I am not a fan of the list setup, (I left Midibox list, since navigating it was not friendly to discover my specific queries).
Daily I pore hours into investigating your site as I seek to return to organ seriously and learn MidiTzer, and there are HUGE resources on the list to research posted by skilled professionals and beginners alike.
Not there yet, but learning.
