New Miditzer 'Sanfilippo' organ announced

Post by JimHenry » Thu Apr 01, 2010 3:37 am

The Miditzer team takes great pleasure in announcing the release of our latest virtual organ, the Miditzer 'Sanfilippo'. This 5 manual instrument features 80 ranks of sampled sounds direct from the "Place de la Musique" in Illinois.

Iniitial testing has revealed that Fluidsynth is unable to handle all 80 ranks without distortion so you will need a PC with 5 SoundBlaster cards for the pipe ranks and two additional cards to handle the percussions. Finding a motherboard with at least 7 PCI slots can be a real challenge but we think the results are worth it.

Additionally you'll need at least a seven port MIDI interface to handle the input requirements of five manuals, pedals, and stops.

A dual processor i7 system with at least 16GB of RAM should be sufficient to host the instrument.

The software is downloadable here:

Actually, if Jasper would allow it, that would be a very nice organ to sample.

Jim,

my VTPO friends and I managed to rig an appropriate setup in a very short time, the battery of speakers included, bringing all our highend equipment togehter.

Most helpfull the multiscreen and multiuser interfaces. This made it possible to reduce the time needed to configurate the Miditzer setup extremly.

The first try resulted in a total breakdown of the electric powersupply of the house. Now a mobile powerplant supports the setup (really!), "full organ" causing and adding audible workload of the machine to the sound.

The sound is fantastic, although exploring the possibilties of the Sanfilippo will take quite a time and several "kwatthrs".

Congratulations and thanks for this surprise.

When do You add the new topic for the Sanfiloppo? Our team is keen to discuss the issue!

Hartmut

As you experiment with the San Filippo Miditzer please use care. We take no responsibility for structural damage that may result from over exuberance.

This version of Miditzer runs on Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) flawlessly.

Any particular reason the download address does not work for the new 'Sanfilippo' organ?

If you study the URL I think you'll see there's an obvious typo in it.
