although I can open .chm docs friends to whom I recommended Your document, report "severe" problems: they have virus scanner alerts!

I very much would like to recommend to publish the document in .pdf format, which I think is quite universal.

If I do this as a pdf if bloats to 1.5 Mb. As html it is 660k so I've attached a zipped folder with the document in html. Just unzip and open the html file in your browser.

Is it worthwhile putting (updated) installation instructions in this document as well so it becomes an "Installing and setting up Miditzer" guide?

Remembering my start into the adventure of discovering Miditzer I would consider the compilation of such a complete document ( for downloading reasons probably in two parts) commendable. IMHO all beginners would appreciate it. Don´t they want music instead of midi?

This looks like great documentation that could actually be incorporated in the install package.

Would the images be a smaller file size and better quality if in .PNG format?

I can offer the source document of the MIDI and MIDI-OX information if you would like.

(I am stuck in Hervey Bay and unable to get home due to flooded roads. The flooding around Brisbane and about to hit in the next few days is predicted to be worse that has ever occurred before.)

The news from up north is really distressing. I hope it's not too bad for you.

(for those who haven't heard - three quarters of Queensland has been declared a disaster area - QLD is around 4 times the area of California. In some places the water has risen so fast that they have called them inland tsunamis. Whole towns have been washed away.)

This looks like great documentation that could actually be incorporated in the install package.

I would be reluctant to do this because of the size increase in the download, especially when the HD version get publically released.

However, if we could put together some sort of compressed documentation package that was downloadable that could be worthwhile.

I'll take you up on the offer of the source for your work and we might be able to put it all together along with a "hints and tips" section - at least I hope we can.

It would certainly be easier for some of us in PDF Graham so it can be printed off as a very handy reference work.

I had tried that before and it did no good. The trick is you must "Unblock" BEFORE you try to open the file for the FIRST time after unzipping it.
