What program do you use for putting the arrows and captions in your pictures?

BTW, I've been using iPhoto on a MAC and it offers 3 x 5 as a standard photo size and that seems to work.

I use Hyper Snap for capturing screen shots and adding all the arrows, writing, and effects. I purchased a license about 10 years ago and they have never required an update license cost. It was $15.00 back 1997! One of the nice features is that I can snap a screen shot that includes the browser and then scale it, add arrows and other stuff when setting up a how to manual.

Thanks Bill. I never realized that there were specialized programs for capturing and annotating screen shots. I found one that is free for personal use, PicPick:

Note that the PicPick installer will install the Ask.com toolbar by default. You can untick that box and install PicPick without Ask.com. As I recall, it is the second screen during installation where you decline Ask.com.

PicPick is fairly easy to use. Here is an example of what I did with it without looking at any documentation:

I just use the simple "prt sc" key on the keyboard, paste into "MS Paint" (a standard part of all MS Windows operating systems). You can crop, resize, add annotations, then save in a wide number of formats including JPG or PNG.
